Business Process Improvement

Bennett Information Technologies business process improvement efforts begin with an analysis of an organization - its mission and vision, its existing processes, systems and structures. Once the existing organization is evaluated using IDEF or comparable tool to create the organization benchmark. Our experts analyze the specific performance of the organization and measure it against similar or comparable organizations. In the absence of comparable performance metrics, our personnel in partnership with the client establish the appropriate performance criteria and management parameters. Upon completion of this analysis phase, we identify opportunities where the organization’s processes can be adjusted or enhanced to improve performance.

Once the improvement opportunities are identified, our team of expert’s works with the organization to determine the optimal value added solution for each process improvement and the requirements to reach the optimal solution set. These solutions often include information technology insertion, policy change, organizational redesign, other technology insertion (robotics, sensors, etc.) or a combination of multiple solutions. The proposed solutions are then prioritized based on client objectives, whether these objectives are potential costs savings, mission criticality, increased productivity or staff morale.

After the appropriate performance improvements are selected for implementation, an implementation plan is developed in partnership with the client organization. This plan addresses the implementation steps required for each process improvement, the schedule for implementation, and the level of effort required by the organization and our team of experts. In addition, the plan addresses the requirements for prototyping and other short term testing of the improved processes.

Once the implementation plan is approved, our team in partnership with the client management coordinates all related actions, monitors progress, and most importantly, measures results against established performance parameters. This measurement of results enables us to rapidly determine the initial levels of success, and to determine those proposed improvements requiring modification as they are being implemented.

Our experience in this field makes us revolutionary in our approach without compromising an organizations mission and vision. We understand cultural requirements, the standards for the work as it is currently done (benchmarking) and the disciplines and people skills required to meet customer long term requirements.

Following the implementation of the process improvements, a period of joint evaluation of the improved processes is undertaken. This period of evaluation validates not only the process, but also the performance metrics developed by the Bennett/client partnership.
